Listening to our members and responding to their feedback

Our 2026 work plan is developed in line with our members’ needs, challenges and opinions in focus. We do all we can to stay continuously aware of what’s on members’ minds through our:

  • Networks, events and daily interactions, which keep us in constant contact with members
  • Governance and advisory bodies, which are made up solely of Philea members
  • Annual membership satisfaction surveys, which allow us to capture needs and opinions of members in a more rigorous way

Members give Philea good marks…

The 2025 membership survey assessed overall satisfaction with Philea on a scale of 1 to 5:

  • A significant majority of respondents were satisfied with Philea’s performance, with nearly 88% indicating they were either satisfied (48%) or very satisfied (40%).
  • No respondent said they were “dissatisfied” or “very dissatisfied”.
  • There is a significant increase in all satisfaction levels from 2024.

Very satisfied/satisfied

… and members have identified areas for improvement

Our 2026 work plan takes into account members’ constructive and actionable feedback on how we can do better:

Clarity of offerings

Communication around working groups, Thematic Networks, and activities should be clearer and better structured.

Orientation & guidance

Members need better guidance to navigate Philea’s offerings, including support for new and smaller members.

Accessibility

Participation should be easier for members with limited time or resources, with more flexible and inclusive formats.

Inclusivity & representation

Smaller foundations, Associate Members and members from central and eastern Europe feel underrepresented or marginalised.

Content practicality

Sessions and resources should be hands-on, relevant, and tailored to different experience levels and organisational roles.

Networking & collaboration

Connections should lead to practical outcomes, with stronger intra- and cross-constituency engagement.

Communication quality

Messaging should be more concise, targeted, and transparent, reducing email overload and improving responsiveness.
